Mission 7-10

In fact, he actually snickered a little.

"Uh, Rino? Are you okay?" asked Argen. "I don't think this would be something to laugh about."

"Rino! Don't you realize how serious this is for you?" said Aila, concerned about the outcome. "If there really was something really important in there, wouldn't this be a failure for you rescuers?"

"First of all, Aila," Rino said, waving. "I'm over here."

Aila realized that she wasn't using her aura for second, causing her to shout in the wrong direction. She turned to Rino, a bit embaressed.

"Secondly, that wasnt the letter." Rino insisted.

Aila and Argen looked at Rino in overwhelming confusion.

"That was just some empty envelope I happened to pick up from Fresnel. Pulled the old switcheroo on those worms!"

"Then, who has the letter?" Aila asked.

"Our good ol' pal Rez has it! I'm telling you, I have a feeling that this guy's got prowess!"

"Well, I certainly hope he's okay." Aila said. "He is a rookie, after all."

"I hope so, too."


"And that goes to those missing folks, too."

"Yeah, but it's like you said, he can handle thing himself," Argen said, then turning to Aila. "And maybe those missing Pokemon would be helping him, too. I know they'll be back!"

"Oh, yeah..." Rino crossed his arms showed a concerned look on his face.

"I just can't wait 'til he hears what you've been through. He's gonna dig the fact that you got poisoned in the process." he said sarcastically. "Better prepare for the ass-chewin'."

"I don't think he'll be too mad at you, Rino," Aila assured him. "He should be proud of Argen for holding his own in battle. I'll be sure to let him know."

"Heh! You seem pretty eager for Parker to come back."

Aila blushed a little. "It's just that I'd like to know him a bit more. It's not common at all to meet another blind Riolu."

"Yeah, that's the only reason..." Rino muttered quickly.


"Excuse me." A familiar voice came around the corner. "Thanks for saving me."

It was the Buizel they saved during the fiasco.

"Well, I should probably thank you," Aila told him. "If you hadn't come to my aid with Argen's help, I may not be alive, now."

"Although, I might've been the cause of the poison effect on your Mime Jr. friend." he said. "I simply looked at type advantage, but overlooked age and battle experience."

"It's alright! I'm fine now. The point is we beat them all!" Argen said. "And my name's Argen!"

Rino decided to introduce himself. "I'm Rino and the Riolu there is Aila!"

Aila waved in greeting.

"I'm Charlie! And..."

"Oh! Wait, wait!" Argen interupted. "Show him what you can do! Show him this!"

Argen demonstrated by levitating himself.

"Oh, um, this?" Charlie once again used his tails to propel himself from the ground.

"Whoa!" Rino was impressed. "I don't think I've seen a Buizel be able to do that! How do you do it?"

"Buizels can do it for a small amount of time. Not sure why I can do this a little longer than most Buizels. Even my brothers have difficulty with this. It may be a mutation."

"Well, I think that's cool! Speaking of your bros, where are they?"

"They didn't want to take the chance of having you turn them in, so they fled."

Rino crossed his arms and tapped his foot with irritation that they got away.

"But before they left," Charlie explained, "They requested that I come with you guys to Tao."

"Really?" Rino said, surprised. "I guess they want you to be safe after what's been happening recently. But, I guess you can hang around with us!"

Charlie's eyes glimmered with happiness. "Thank you so much! And I'll be sure not to be a burden! In fact, I'm very experienced with information on other Pokemon and their attributes!"

"It's always nice to have an info-man on board!" Rino said. "And if you can prove yourself, we might even consider adding you to the team!"

Charlie was a bit surprised. "Well...I like the offer, but..."


"Rino! Aila!" Charlie was again interupted, this time, by a Riolu with a dark blue scarf. He seemed bruised and waterlogged walking into the ally. All of the Pokemon looked at him with concern.

"Rez! Buddy, you look like hell!" Rino said.

Rez shook his head and said, "You have no idea."

"What happened go you?" Aila asked.

"I-I had some...difficulty." Rez said, panting. "But, Anana did recieve the letter."

"What'd I tell you Aila?" Rino quickly mentioned to Aila. He then turned back to Rez. "You look like you need an Oran Berry...or two."

"I'm okay. I have enough."

"Alright, I guess. By the way, this is Charlie. He's coming with us."

While Charlie and Rez introduced themselves to eachother, Aila saw a group of familiar faces heading out of the city. Among the faces was her friend Layla's.

"Rino! There's our friends!" Aila got all of their attention as they looked at the crowd.

"Alright! Let's get out of here!" Rino led the others to the group of Rescuers and Rogues. It was a bit of a rare sight to see, but both guilds walked out of the city as one.

It wasn't long before the clouds blanketed the sky and brought rain to the travelers. Rino grew annoyed at the sudden change in weather.

"Ugh! Just what we need!" Rino complained. "Hope this doesn't happen in Tao. Rez, I hope you've got a roof to sleep under!"

"I, uh, don't." Rez said, growing more and more tired as the rain dropped.

"Dammit. Guess we could move our campsite to a bigger tree somewhere."

Aila and Layla, hearing their situation, looked at eachother, worried for the four apparently homeless Pokemon. They approached Rino, Rez, Argen, and Charlie.

"Hey guys," Layla said. "Could I make a suggestion?"

The four of them grew intregued. Especially Rino. "We're listening."

"You've met Honey, right Rino?" Aila asked and Rino nodded. "She owns a base that has plenty of rooms to rent. She might rent you guys a room for free if you contribute to her base and shop."

"No foolin'?!" Rino's eyes glistened with joy. "And you guys will be there, too?"

"Of course!" Layla smiled. "We rented rooms there already!"

"Well, let's not waste time! Let's go home!"
